Matthew Welty was born and raised in Healdsburg, California, and knew he wanted to be a lawyer since he could remember driving past his Dad’s law office. And, after all the years, the shine hasn’t worn off. Matt continues to practice daily with quality, integrity, creativity and character.
Matt specializes in real estate, business and corporate law. He began his career with a boutique firm specializing in real property litigation in Washington, D.C., where he represented some of the largest apartment building commercial landlords in the Mid-Atlantic. He says that experience taught him to use all his skills to represent a client’s best interest on their behalf. Matt now applies his real estate litigation skills to wine country, where he specializes in vineyard sales, leases, ranch purchases, sales and land use.
Matt received his Political Science degree at the University of California, Davis, with courses in viticulture and enology mixed in, and earned his Law Degree at the University of Pacific, McGeorge School of Law. He is licensed to practice in California, Maryland and the District of Columbia.
Matt lives with his wife and three kids, all boys, and gets outside for all the clichè lawyer sports: golf, tennis, skiing and road biking. He won’t pick a favorite food because he loves food so much he doesn’t want to cheat on the others by naming just one. He will, however, admit that he hates oaky, buttery chardonnays, but loves coffee. Loves it.
